Carpentry & Metalwork Studio
Here at Trinity Art Studios we tend to refer to this studio simply as ‘The Workshop’. Here we are free to make noise with hammers, power tools, mallets and machinery. It’s a place where we can produce wood shavings, saw dust and iron filings, and work with resins, solvents and other odour giving substances. There is no one above, below, to the front, back or sides of The Workshop. It is the perfect makers space!
Traditional forms of wood working are alive and well here in The Workshop. We are equipped with carving gouges, hand stitched rasps, Japanese saws, cabinetmaker chisels, bench planes, levels and gauges, and many more hand tools. Here is a studio within which to create with one of nature’s most incredible gifts - wood!
The Workshop is compact. Though modest in size, it packs a variety of woodworking machinery including: a bandsaw, table saw, mitre saw, scroll saw, small lathe, thicknesser planer, router table, pillar drill & belt, disc and bobbin sanders. All with dust extraction.
We make plinths and bases for sculptures, display walls for two-dimensional artworks, stages and platforms for performance art, amongst other things.
We stretch canvases in made to measure sizes and we custom make frames for paintings.
